Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Superintendent SMP to join our growing Project Team in Namibia

The tasks you'll perform

• Manage the quality of output of the allocated project site discipline activities including alignment with company, Client, regulatory and contractual requirements.
• Manage the technical competence of the discipline contractor(s) ensuring that the allocated site activities meet the requirements of the Client and their projects in accordance with the contract, drawings and specifications.
• Manage the various procedures, work practices, plans, and protocols to ensure the contractor’s site team works efficiently and maintains a consistent approach and consistently high standard of work.
• Ensure safety, environmental, community and industrial relations, and quality plans and procedures are adhered to by the contractor. 

The expertise you'll bring

• Be a Namibian Citizen.
• 15+ years of experience in site-based industry management experience across mineral processing, with at least 10 years directly managing or overseeing SMP construction activities
• Proven experience supervising the erection of steel structures, tanks, and the installation of large mechanical equipment.
• Extensive site-based leadership on Greenfield and Brownfield construction projects across Africa. 
• Trade-qualified (Red Seal – Mechanical Fitting & Machining) with a Diploma in Project Management and NEC3 Contract Management training.
• Strong background in quality control, contract compliance, and construction methodologies in SMP disciplines.
• Demonstrated ability to manage contractor performance, ensure alignment with project drawings/specifications, and uphold SHEQ standards.
• Sound understanding of site procedures, statutory requirements, and client expectations for major processing plant infrastructure.
• Skilled in constructability planning, project execution, commissioning readiness, and contractor engagement.
• Excellent communication, leadership, delegation, and planning skills with the ability to work with limited supervision while maintaining a high level of output quality.
• Competent in project controls tools including MS Projects, Navisworks, Smartsheet, and MS Office Suite.
