Lycopodium is currently recruiting for Senior/Lead Piping Designers to join our growing Drafting & Design team in Perth.
The tasks you'll perform:
- Providing proficient and accurate design input for the production of mechanical drawings;
- Piping design and provision of information to draftsmen for the preparation of design drawings;
- Development and review of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs);
- Reviewing of vendor certified documentation (drawings, data sheets and manuals) and responsibility for the implementation of engineering interface data onto the drawings via the draftsmen;
- Conducting timely reviews of Project mechanical drawings to achieve full compliance with design intent;
- Performing accurate design calculations in accordance with Project, Client and regulatory standards;
- Interpreting engineering drawings, documents, specifications and scopes;
- Identifying scope variations and prepare relevant documentation accordingly;
- Ensuring correctly specified equipment is sourced to meet project deliverables.
The expertise you'll bring
- Qualification in Mechanical Design, or the equivalent
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Mineral Processing ideally in an EPCM environment
- Piping design experience in mineral processing plants
- Experience in gold, base metals and iron ore is advantageous
- Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including Clients, vendors and co-workers
- Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and exceptional knowledge across a broad range of disciplines
- Proven time management and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
