Lycopodium Namibia is seeking a experienced Construction Manager with a strong EPCM project background in SMP construction across mineral processing plants. to join our team. Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the professional delivery of project deliverables in accordance with the company, client and projects requirements.
This is a key leadership role for someone with a proven record managing complex site-based projects.
The tasks you'll perform
- Lead and manage the project execution and on time delivery of the Processing Plant and construction works within structured EPCM environment.
- Manage and guide the Lycopodium Civil, SMP and E&I Team and construction Contractors.
- Provide advice and support to the construction team, whilst utilising your experience in Process Plant Construction/Operations/Maintenance.
- Drive HSE performance, ensuring full compliance with project and statutory safety standards.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with Client QAQC requirements, as well as company policies, plans and procedures in conjunction with the Project Engineering Team.
- Follow the construction plan & monitoring progress in respect of time, costs & quality in conjunction with the Project Controls Team.
- Monitor construction work for compliance with engineering drawings, design specifications, owner’s standards, and statutory regulations, in conjunction with the site-based Engineering Team.
- Maintain & foster relationships & contacts, & liaison with the Owner’s and EPCM Engineering Team in respect of technical issues
- Oversee planned work scopes and ensure job completion is constructed in accordance with relevant specifications and procedures.
- Promote a positive culture by leading by example, coaching, and mentoring supervisors and engineers.
- Attend client progress meetings and maintaining a positive relationship with the client.
The expertise you'll bring
- Namibian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- 15+ years of hands-on construction experience, with at least 10 years in a Construction Manager role on major projects.
- Demonstrated success delivering SMP and infrastructure packages on mineral processing plants, from early works through commissioning
- Tertiary Qualification or professional development in projects Advantageous
- Proven track record working on remote, high-risk, or logistically complex sites
- Experience managing construction under an EPCM contract model is required
- Strong knowledge of international QA/QC standards, construction methodologies, and engineering documentation control.
- Skilled in client liaison, contractor engagement, and stakeholder reporting.
- High attention to detail and sound knowledge of HSE policy and procedures.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal employees.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.
