Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a driven and experienced Senior Cost Controller to join our onsite project team in the South West of WA. This position will be fulfilling either a 5:2 or 2:1 roster, commencing Q1 2024.

Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the Senior Cost Controller will be a key support to our project team, providing accurate, effective, and timely control of Project costs and accounting functions to produce deliverables inline with both Client and Project standards. Additionally, the Senior Cost Controller will be the point of contact between the Lycopodium Perth office and site as it pertains to any cost related matters.

The tasks you'll perform

  • Ensure all the budgets; forecasts and cost commitments are produced efficiently to a high standard in line with requirements.
  • Support team members with re-forecasting and estimating activities to complete project cost forecasts (trending).
  • Assist with the entry and administration of data into the project controls software system.
  • Update and administer the project cash flow forecast.
  • Monitor Project performance including costs, progress against schedule and internal reviews to provide a transparent assessment of critical project performances.
  • Assist Project Managers in decision making by constantly monitoring budget and expenditure changes, as well as providing regular updates of project status.
  • Evaluate project progress to ensure that it is meeting budgetary and deadline objectives. 
  • Assist with the timely and accurate allocation of budgets to study/project documentation.
  • Assist with Project Approval Forms, Project Staffing plan, Project Invoicing and project payment claims.

The expertise you'll bring

  •   5+ years’ experience in a cost control or related role, ideally with major capital resources sector projects. Previous site experience will be considered favourably.
  • Qualifications in a commerce or engineering discipline is preferred, but not essential.
  • Advanced competencies with industry standard software including Microsoft Excel, and cost control programmes (CMS proficiency will be highly regarded), knowledge of SAP and/or Oracle.
  • Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a high attention to detail.
  • A self-starter who can readily adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment and working within a team.
