Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Financial Lead to join our growing accounting and finance in Mississauga Ontario. 

Reporting to the Finance Lead - Americas the Financial Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day operational tasks, financial reporting and corporate compliance for functional entities in close collaboration with the Finance Lead – Americas.

The tasks you'll perform

  • Monthly closing of subledgers including AP, AR, and project billing with high degree of accuracy and completeness.
  • Monthly reconciliation of Bank accounts and balance sheet accounts. 
  • Assist in timely and accurate preparation of the Lycopodium Americas entities’ monthly profit & loss and balance sheet reports.
  • Assist Finance Lead - Americas in liaison with corporate office, auditors, CRA and other corporate statutory bodies for responding to queries and notices.
  • Prepare and file monthly WSIB, HST, Payroll Tax, EHT, expats remittances and other statutory obligations.
  • Assist Finance Lead - Americas in treasury management including assessing working capital requirements, preparing cash flow forecast and assessing any short-term risk-free investment opportunities.
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset register for Lycopodium Americas.
  • Assist in Annual income tax, WSIB and EHT returns.
  • Maintain consistent coordination with local consultants/ accountant on onshore project activities i.e. invoicing, accounts payable and local compliances.
  • Provide timely information to local payroll service provider to make sure site expats and local staff are paid in time.
  • Receive, process and action suppliers’ invoices within the expected timeline.
  • Prepare and issue supplier payments within agreed payment terms using online banking platforms.
  • Assist with other general accounting and statutory duties, as directed, to enable the smooth operation of the Lycopodium Americas finance Group function.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures and ensure that they are complied with.

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multiple tasks and prioritise to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors, co-workers, and group heads.
  •  Strong written and verbal communication skills along with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Efficient utilisation of available technologies, understanding of ERP system and advances skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision with consistently high degree of accuracy and producing a high quality of deliverables.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Proficient understanding of business acumen with the ability to adapt to different business environments.
  • University degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • CPA or other professional designation is preferred.
  • Hands on experience with SAP S4HANA is a plus.
  • Minimum 05 years postgraduate experience in a similar position.
  • Construction, project management and/or Engineering industry experience preferable.
