Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Proposals Manager to join our growing team in Mississauga, Ontario.
The Proposals Manager is accountable for the proposal development activities of Lycopodium America’s study pursuits ranging from the Preliminary Economic Assessment phase to Feasibility Study phase as well as project pursuits related to Engineering, Procurement and Construction / Construction Management EPC/EPCM mandates and services.
The Proposals Manager is responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities of the Business Development team, leading proposal preparation, and coordinating the input from internal stakeholders and external partners/vendors, to obtain their technical input, budget estimates, and resource allocation. The Proposal Manager will be responsible for, with guidance and support of Group Managers, authoring sections of the proposals, both for the insertion of ‘generic’ company information as well as insertion of technical information in response to the enquiry documentation and individual study or project pursuit phase.
The candidate in this position will gain exposure to and be supported by the Group Managers of the Lycopodium America’s team to deliver competitive proposals to clients that are consistent with the operating model and risk profile of Lycopodium.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the end‑to‑end proposal lifecycle including Bid/No‑Bid reviews, bid strategy, win themes, approvals, and handover, reporting to the SVP Commercial within Business Development
- Chair and manage all proposal governance forums (kick‑off, reviews, weekly status, TAR approvals, Bid/No‑Bid, and post‑bid lessons learned) with Group Managers and leadership
- Own client engagement throughout the proposal process, acting as the single point of contact for document exchanges, clarifications, submissions, presentations, follow‑ups, and feedback
- Ensure proposal quality, compliance, and alignment with company standards, client requirements, industry practices, formatting, and accuracy
- Author and integrate high‑quality technical proposals with minimal supervision, incorporating sub‑consultant inputs, scopes, schedules, key personnel, and qualifications
- Manage resources, priorities, and timelines across multiple concurrent proposals to meet internal and client deadlines
- Develop proposal budgets and commercial inputs, including labour estimates, sub‑consultant coordination, and approval within delegation of authority
- Maintain proposal systems, content, and readiness (SharePoint/files, CVs, EOI/SOQ templates, new starter CVs, reporting, staffing updates, and supervision of proposal support staff)
Direct Report(s): Lead Proposal Specialist
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Engineering or business degree, or equivalent relevant experience, with deep exposure to the mineral processing industry
- 15+ years’ experience in engineering consultancy environments, across engineering, project engineering, and/or management roles
- Strong strategic and commercial mindset, with the ability to plan, influence, and act in alignment with company business plans and market conditions
- Sound understanding of mineral processing markets and project delivery, including studies, projects, and responding to market fluctuations
- Highly experienced in technical proposal development, including authoring, estimating, tendering, and deliverables‑based scopes of services
- Proven business acumen and stakeholder influence, engaging effectively with senior internal leaders and external clients
- Exceptional communication, organisation, and attention to detail, with high integrity and effective time management
- Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and SharePoint, supporting proposal, estimating, and tendering processes
