As a result of a growing pipeline of work, Lycopodium is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our expanding Process Industries team in Melbourne.
Reporting to the Manager of Design, this role is responsible for the delivery of accurate, professional and compliant design deliverables using Company approved systems and procedures.
The tasks you'll perform
- Conduct timely reviews of Project mechanical drawings to achieve full compliance with design intent.
- Perform and review engineering designs, including calculations and design development.
- Interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications and scopes.
- Liaise with and provide professional support to the drafting team in the preparation of drawing deliverables.
- Develop technical documentation including scopes of work and specifications using relevant industry standards and guidelines. Identify scope variations and prepare relevant documentation accordingly.
- Review certified vendor documentation and disseminate the information to the appropriate personnel for interface checking.
- Maintain an understanding of the latest developments to Industry and Project specific codes, standards and related engineering matters.
- Proactively support other team members as required to ensure Project deliverables are met.
The expertise you'll bring
- 6+ years post-graduate experience working within the industrial processes industry or on similar capital projects.
- University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Experience in process and industrial projects, with a strong foundation in the design and review of mechanical systems including pressure vessels, tanks, pumps, piping networks and related equipment.
- Current registration on the National Engineering Register (NER) and be a Registered Professional Engineer in Victoria (RPEV) with appropriate Victorian BLA registration.
- High attention to detail and exceptional knowledge of mechanical process optimisation.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve consistently high standards within both budgetary and schedule constraints.
- Proficient understanding of business acumen with the ability to adapt to different business environments.
