Lycopodium is growing locally and globally as a result of a growing pipeline of awarded projects. To support our growth and the delivery of a signifcant base metals project in particular, we're recruiting for an experienced expat Technical Consultant (Structural / Piping Design), reporting to our General Manager - Philippines to join our growing team in Manila. 

Reporting to the General Manager - Philippines, the Technical Consultant (Structural / Piping Design) will provide technical expertise or coordinate expertise from external sources to effectively complete the project requirements.

The tasks you'll perform

  • Be proficient in the support of lead drafts people on a project.
  • Be proficient in the layout and detailing of major materials handling and process plant design in their nominated discipline.
  • Supervise and ensure quality of layout and layout deliverables throughput out the design process
  • early design reviewing/guidance/correction etc
  • identification of trending issues and ensuring their reinforcement or rectification
  • incorporating TAG learnings in future designs
  • 3D model development of detailed steelworks, plateworks or piping (depending on the discipline)
  • Review of 3D model deliverables
  • Training and coaching of designers in minerals processing plant design (depending on the discipline)
  • Ensure the project drafting team has sufficient quality technical advice to produce project deliverables to meet all Lycopodium standards.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work in a team environment and have good communication and interpersonal skills. To develop these skills in the project drafting team.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of fabrication and construction techniques and to develop these skills in the project drafting team.
  • Ensure Company drafting standards, systems and procedures are followed by the project drafting team to meet project deliverables.
  • Drafting check of project deliverable drawings and models to ensure compliance to Company standards to meet quality requirements.

The expertise you'll bring

  • An approved diploma qualification for their discipline or directly related industry experience of 10 years in structural drafting.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in leading a design drafting team.
  • Experience ideally with Bentley Open Buildings Designer /Openplant Modeller
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Australian Standards.
  • Detailed knowledge of mineral process plant layout.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and commitment.
