Due to a growing level of secured studies and projects, Lycopodium is looking for Senior Mechanical Engineers to join our Melbourne team. 

Reporting to the Manager of Design, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for producing proficient and accurate design outputs that are fit for purpose and in alignment with Project and Study requirements.

The tasks you'll perform

  • Maintaining the quality of output produced from the appointed discipline team to ensure deliverables are met to high-level of accuracy.
  • Developing and monitoring the production of designs in accordance with Project, Client and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct timely reviews of Project mechanical drawings to achieve full compliance with design intent.
  • Liaise with and provide professional support to the drafting team in the preparation of drawing deliverables.
  • Develop technical documentation, identify scope variations and prepare relevant documentation accordingly.
  • Review certified vendor documentation and disseminate the information to the appropriate personnel for interface checking.
  • Maintain an understanding of the latest developments to Industry and Project specific codes, standards and related engineering matters.
  • Proactively support other team members as required to ensure Project deliverables are met.

The expertise you'll bring

  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Demonstrated experience interfacing with Clients.
  • Senior level EPCM experience working on Mineral Processing Plants, dry plant and materials handling, or similar capital projects.
  • Demonstrated sound knowledge in contract management and controls.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving skills with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proven time management and organisational skills.
  • Current registration on the National Engineering Register (NER) and be a Registered Professional Engineer in Victoria (RPEV) with appropriate Victorian BLA registration.
