Lycopodium is growing locally and globally as a result of a growing pipeline of awarded projects. To support our growth and the delivery of a significant base metals project in particular, we're recruiting for experienced Design Managers to join our Brisbane team of technical experts.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will lead project design management activities, in consultation and collaboration with all project stakeholders, to ensure proficient production of engineering and design outputs that are fit for purpose and in alignment with that company, client & regulatory standards, quality, cost, safety, meet technical compliance requirements, ensure sustainability and environmental performance are observed and that time schedules are met.

The tasks you'll perform

  • Coordinating the multi-discipline engineering, design and drafting resources assigned to allocated tasks to achieve agreed deliverable dates and man-hour budgets.
  • Monitoring the progress and performance of the project engineering & design team, providing & coordinating provision of proficient and accurate engineering and design input and providing feedback and support where necessary.
  • Consistently providing, and ensuring provision of, engineering designs and solutions within agreed milestone dates and to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Ensuring project delivery in accordance with associated company policies and procedures

The expertise you'll bring

  • Experience in gold, base metals ore or lithium preferred.
  • Relevant tertiary education qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Structural or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in mineral processing or related industries.
  • Demonstrated credentials in mechanical or structural engineering design for studies and detailed design.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a multi disciplined engineering and design team and collaborate with process and project disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate engineering and design workshare activities across other Australian and international company offices
  • High attention to detail and exceptional knowledge across a broad range of disciplines.
  • Excellent written, communication and supervisory skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing high quality service to Clients within budget and time constraints.
  • Extensive understanding of engineering and design challenges, expectations, requirements including but not limited to compliance, change management, design reviews, and risk management process including safety in design
  • Willingness to travel (within and outside Australia) on short-term assignments for other Australian and international company office coordination activities, site support and key client engagement.
  • Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including Clients.
  • Commitment to continuously seek improvement in engineering solutions and design with a focus on new technologies and innovation.
  • Intuitive leadership skills with the ability to initiate, lead and manage change in a complex environment.
  • Proven commitment to provide mentoring and assist in identifying avenues of professional development and succession planning to personnel within your team.
