Reporting to the General Manager – Projects, this is a critical leadership role responsible for the overall project delivery and its resources. The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional backed by extensive experience managing medium-large scale mining & minerals projects both locally & internationally.

The tasks you’ll perform:  

  • Ensure the quality of output of the greater project team, and that it is aligned with the needs of the project, the company objectives, the requirements of the client and meets regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the management and technical competence of the project team in the delivery of the projects is enhanced and developed to meet the requirements of the Clients and their projects in accordance with the contract.
  • Oversee all project activities and ensure they are conducted in a manner that highly prioritises safety, environment, community and industrial relations.
  • Develop and maintain the various project specific procedures, work practices, plans and protocols to enable the project team to work efficiently and at a high standard of work.
  • Manage the timeliness and accuracy of the project control (reporting, costs, schedule, trends and change management) in terms of both direct and indirect costs in accordance with the contract and in-house procedures.
  • Ensure overall schedules, budgets and target deliverables are achieved to a consistently high standard. 
  • Develop and maintain productive client relationships.  

The expertise you’ll bring:

  • University degree in Engineering or experience equivalent.
  • 15+ years post graduate experience in Mineral Processing or related industries, ideally with strong experience in an EPCM environment.
  • Experience delivering mining projects locally and internationally is critical.
  • Ability to travel internationally or locally for project work as required.
  • Strong technical background with a broad multi-disciplinary base.
  • Thorough understanding and awareness of project implementation, constructability, OH&S, environmental, community and industrial relations issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct and influence multi-disciplinary teams, consultants and contractors to deliver critical project objectives.
  • The ability to build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors and co-workers.
  • Intuitive leader with the ability to initiate, lead and manage change in a complex environment.
