Lycopodium is currently recruiting for experienced SMP Supervisors to join our new gold project team in Tanzania. The site roster will vary depending on the point of hire in the country.
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the SMP Supervisor is responsible for the accurate, timely and professional delivery of project deliverables in accordance with the company, client and projects requirements.
The tasks you'll perform
- Manage the quality of output of the allocated project site discipline activities including alignment with company, Client, regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Manage the technical competence of the discipline contractor(s) ensuring that the allocated site activities meet the requirements of the Client and their projects in accordance with the contract, drawings and specifications.
- Manage the various procedures, work practices, plans, and protocols to ensure the contractor’s site team works efficiently and maintains a consistent approach and consistently high standard of work.
- Ensure safety, environmental, community and industrial relations, and quality plans and procedures are adhered to by the contractor.
The expertise you'll bring
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Supervisor / Superintendent role (mechanical works) in mineral processing and/or related industries
- Experience in EPC/EPCM/Client/Owner is desirable
- Strong background in site construction and supervision with a broad multidisciplinary base in mineral processing plant / infrastructure construction.
- Strong background in the technical and quality control requirements of the specific work discipline.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge in contract management and controls.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organisational skills.
- Managerial-leadership ability.
- Capacity to delegate appropriately.
- Capacity to clear thinking and planning.
- Capacity to evaluate work practices, implement and suggest alternatives and refinements where necessary.
- Ability to articulate and exemplify the purpose and ethos of the organisation.
- Ability to work effectively with occasional supervision with consistently high degree of accuracy and producing a high quality of deliverables.
