Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Senior Process Engineer to join our growing process team in Perth, Western Australia. 

Reporting to the Group Manager - Process, the Senior Process Engineer will play a key role in developing and delivering process engineering solutions from concept studies through to detailed design and commissioning support.

The tasks you'll perform

  • Developing process design deliverables, including mass balances, process flowsheets, P&IDs, design criteria and control philosophies.
  • Participating in scoping, feasibility and detailed engineering studies.
  • Reviewing and interpreting metallurgical testwork programmes and data.
  • Performing process calculations, equipment sizing and design evaluations.
  • Evaluating vendor submissions and providing technical recommendations.
  • Working closely with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and project teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
  • Identifying project risks and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Supporting plant commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Mentoring and developing graduate and intermediate-level process engineers.
  • Contributing to proposals, study reports and Client presentations.
  • Promoting a culture of safety, quality, innovation and continuous improvement.

The expertise you'll bring

  • Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in mining, mineral processing or EPCM consulting.
  • Strong operations and process design experience across studies and detailed engineering, particularly in Gold, Base Metals, Lithium, Rare Earths, or other Critical Minerals.
  • Experience in process simulations, mass and water balances, and process calculations.
  • Solid understanding of metallurgical testwork and of process equipment selection.
  • Excellent technical report-writing and communication skills.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary project environments.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
