Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Lead Proposal Specialist to join our growing team in Mississauga, Ontario.

The Lead Proposal Specialist will be accountable for the proposal development activities of Lycopodium’s study pursuits ranging from the Preliminary Economic Assessment phase to Feasibility phase as well as project pursuits related to engineering, procurement and construction / construction management EPC/EPCM mandates and services.

The Lead Proposal Specialist will be responsible for supporting the day to day activities of the Business Development team, leading proposal preparation, and coordinating the input from internal stakeholders and external partners/vendors, to obtain their technical input, cost estimating, and resource allocation. The candidate in this position will gain exposure to, and be supported by the Group Managers of the Lycopodium Minerals Canada team to deliver competitive proposals to clients that are consistent with the operating model and risk profile of Lycopodium.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all activities related to tendering of new business opportunities
  • Coordinate and drive the Bid/No‑Bid review process.
  • Support development of bid strategies and win themes.
  • Lead proposal kick‑off sessions and manage ongoing coordination.
  • Prepare and write technical proposals with cross‑functional input.
  • Gather and expedite contributions from Process, Engineering, and Projects teams.
  • Provide strategic input into commercial proposal development.
  • Track sales opportunities and bid status in Salesforce, including oversight of Salesforce use across the business.
  • Collaborate with Lycopodium subsidiaries on business development activities.
  • Ensure the quality of all marketing and business development materials, especially tender and proposal content.
  • Research, identify, and maintain high‑quality business opportunities aligned with core capabilities.
  • Collect, analyze, and distribute market intelligence.
  • Maintain customer and project information for marketing purposes.
  • Deliver business analysis and insights for both new and existing opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain systems and procedures supporting business development.
  • Support marketing and advertising activities.
  • Consistently meet tight proposal development deadlines.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 10+ years’ experience in an engineering consultancy within engineering and/or project delivery; proposal preparation within the mining and mineral processing industry
  • Degree in Engineering or Business, or any relevant discipline
  • Competence in developing deliverable‑based estimates for engineering and drafting scopes
  • Experience in estimating and tendering processes
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to influence internal stakeholders and clients
  • Excellent communicator with strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking with sound market understanding
  • Solid knowledge of study and project delivery processes
  • Ability to plan and execute strategically in alignment with business goals
  • High integrity, strong time‑management, planning, and organizational skills
