Lycopodium is growing locally and globally as a result of a growing pipeline of awarded projects. To support our growth and the delivery of a significant base metals project in particular, we're recruiting for an experienced Principal Engineer- NPI, reporting to our Group Manager Engineering to join our growing team in Perth.

The tasks you’ll perform:  

  • Provide proficient and accurate design input to produce deliverables (engineering documents and design drawings) for infrastructure (on-site and off-site)
  • Delegate and manage accurate engineering design and calculations for infrastructure scope.
  • Managing the preparation, reviewing and checking engineering calculations, technical specifications and scopes of work.
  • Managing the clients through the project lifecycle to deliver value within project performance criteria.
  • Coaching and mentoring engineers and draftspersons through practical guidance during the design and commissioning phases of projects.
  • Responsible for ensuring technical solutions delivered during the study and design phases are compliant with design review processes and design quality requirements.
  • Managing the progress and performance of project design teams and give input and provide feedback and support where necessary.

The expertise you’ll bring:

  • Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Experience in MIA (mine infrastructure area)
  • Min 15 years post graduate proven experience in a leadership capacity, particularly in steel and concrete structures for mineral processing plants and/or related industries
  • Demonstrated success managing client expectations on design and drafting issues
  • Extremely well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and exceptional knowledge of engineering designs and calculations
  • Solid work experience with engineering consultancies that specialise in minerals processing
