Lycopodium Minerals are currently recruiting for an experienced SMP Superintendent to work for our long-term gold project in Ghana, West Africa on a 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, the SMP Superintendent is responsible for the accurate, timely and professional delivery of project deliverables in accordance with the company, client and projects requirements. 

The tasks you’ll perform:  

  • Manage the quality of output of the project area site teams including alignment with company, Client, regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate the various procedures, work practices, plans, and protocols to enable site teams to work efficiently and maintain a consistent approach and consistently high standard of work.
  • Manage the area site teams in accordance with the company’s strategic plan and objectives.
  • Manage the technical competency of the site team in the delivery of the activities is continuously enhanced and developed to meet client and project requirements.
  • Ensure safety, environmental, community and industrial relations, and quality plans and procedures are adhered to across the site. 

The expertise you’ll bring:

  • Technical Certificate/Tertiary Education Qualification, Degree or Diploma in Construction/Engineering (desirable) or equivalent industry experience.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in various aspects of Construction Management and Supervision, preferably in the mineral processing construction and related industries. Experience in ball mills is preferable. 
  • Extremely well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors and co-workers.
  • Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision whilst consistently producing a high quality of deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve consistently high standards within both budgetary and schedule constraints.
  • Demonstrate a strict practice of confidentiality, personal responsibility and discretion.
