Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Lead Procurement Officer to join our growing Project Services team in Perth.
Reporting to the Principal Procurement Officer, the Lead Procurement Officer will be responsible for the management of procurement and expediting activities of a specific project, or projects and studies as assigned by the Project Services Manager.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Ensure the integrity of information maintained within, and the timely provision of, all relevant procurement and expediting reporting.
- Carry out commercial analysis and evaluation of quotations to enable the correct supplier choice to be made.
- Manage the Procurement team to perform their designated functions with suitable speed, accuracy, efficiency and with a strict adherence to company policy and procedures.
- Interface with Projects for schedule requirements and budget considerations, Engineering / Process Technology for technical requirements.
- Implement and monitor the procurement schedule in accordance with the overall delivery schedule.
- Plan, coordinate, monitor and report progress of all activities including but not limited to enquiries, tender evaluation and award of purchase orders.
- Provide leadership, guidance and direction to the Procurement team as required.
What you will bring:
- A minimum of 10 years direct experience in the procurement, expediting, transport and logistics disciplines in the engineering or construction industries.
- Qualifications in a Procurement discipline is preferred.
- Previous experience working on international projects – Africa preferred.
- Sound knowledge of international and local tendering and contract laws regulations and practices.
- Ability to manage a team & provide leadership and direction to the Procurement team as required.
- High-level negotiating skills and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to create a positive stakeholder management and customer support environment.
- Capability to work independently and deliver to agreed deadlines with a results driven approach.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet targets and deadlines.
