Warehouse Team Leader-Afternoon Shift

Founded 17 years ago, we are an Australian vertically integrated business, employing around 300 people, with our Support Office and Creative Centre based in Melbourne and retail stores located across the country.

Our chocolate is crafted in our Creative Centre in Coburg and distributed to our retail stores, corporate and wholesale clients and online customers nation-wide.

We are currently looking for a full-time, permanent Warehouse Team Leader with solid warehouse experience to join our team. 

The Supervisor Position

The Warehouse has different distribution channels, including online orders, corporate/wholesale orders, and retail orders; sending stock to our own stores. Different types of orders may require a high degree of customization including gift wrapping, packing for temperature control, involving pallets and parcel delivery methods. 

The supervisor role we are looking to fill would manage our production and warehouse operators working the afternoon shift.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a small team within the warehouse effectively

  • Lead a team (online, corporate/wholesale or retail) ensuring dispatching of finished goods in an efficient, accurate and timely manner.
  • Supervise the team, support staff in their duties, ensuring individuals have enough training and direction to perform their role.
  • Plan the workload and material resource on a daily and weekly basis, ensuring resource is optimized to deliver business needs.
  • Dispatch orders on time using an appropriate transport method.
  • Manage the receipting and put-away of material and stock checks. Ensure stock accuracy.

Work with internal and external stakeholders

  • Liaise with key stakeholders to understand and action requirements for picking, presentation and dispatch. Communicate requirements to the team and ensure the team adhere to order requirements and complete appropriate documentation accurately.
  • Maintain good working relationships with suppliers, transport providers & internal departments.

Actively focus on continuous improvement

  • Contribute to the development of company systems in stock management, order fulfilment, traceability and freight.
  • Develop and implement operational processes that optimize quality, time and cost. Manage and improve operational costs, labour, materials and transport
  • Always adhere to and ensure the team adhere to safe work practices and food safety practices

Support a culture of customer service and improvement

  • Demonstrate leadership and commitment to excellence in quality, customer service and operational performance
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
  • Support other employees and the Logistics Manager as required

About You

  • Experience of and detailed understanding of Warehouse Operations and Order Processing Systems
  • Understands manual handling methods
  • Good administration skills and attention to detail
  • Energy and motivation to achieve the highest standards
  • Effective communicator – shares important information and listens to people
  • Knowledge of HACCP and OHS
  • Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, enjoys delivering on challenges
  • Computer literate, Excel, Outlook, ERP Systems,
  • Available to work late nights.

We are looking for someone to supervise our operators working the PM shift, which operates from 3pm - 11pm, and the role would report into the Logistics Manager.
