Environment Business Partner Sydney based (Stay in Lithgow, Mudgee & Muswellbrook)

We're looking for an experienced Environment Business Partner who is passionate about creating positive environmental outcomes and enjoys working alongside project teams to deliver safe, sustainable and compliant infrastructure projects.    

This is a collaborative partnering role where your expertise, guidance and relationship-building skills will directly influence the success of major power projects across New South Wales. You'll be supported by an experienced team that values knowledge sharing, continuous learning and professional growth.      

About the Role

The role is a fixed term for 9 months commencing from Aug 26 till April 27. The project operates on a 3:1 roster. The role will be required to stay around Mudgee & Muswellbrook.

Attractive base salary + Site Uplift + Living Away from Home allowance will be provided.

As our Environment Business Partner, you'll work closely with project managers, construction teams, clients and regulators throughout the project lifecycle. From developing environmental documentation before mobilisation through to providing practical support on site, you'll help ensure environmental excellence is embedded into everything we do.

You'll be a trusted advisor who empowers others, builds confidence across project teams and helps foster a strong environmental culture.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Partner with project teams to develop practical environmental solutions that support successful project delivery.
  • Prepare Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs), environmental sub-plans, procedures, work instructions and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate environmental approvals and consultation with clients and regulatory authorities.
  • Provide coaching, guidance and technical advice to help teams confidently meet their environmental responsibilities.
  • Facilitate environmental risk workshops and collaborate on practical risk controls.
  • Monitor environmental performance and compliance across projects.
  • Conduct environmental assurance activities and audits in line with the HSE Audit Plan.
  • Prepare clear, high-quality environmental reports for clients and stakeholders.
  • Lead or support environmental incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver engaging toolbox talks and contribute to the ongoing development of our Environmental Management System.

About You

You are someone who enjoys working with people, building trusted relationships and helping others succeed. You communicate confidently, bring a practical mindset and are motivated by delivering positive environmental outcomes.        

You'll also bring:

  • A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least five years' experience in an environmental role within construction, utilities or infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian environmental legislation and its practical application.
  • Experience working within an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
  • Experience preparing environmental management documentation and supporting project delivery.
  • The ability to influence, coach and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach.

Desirable:

  • ISO 14001 Lead Auditor qualification.
  • ICAM Investigation training.
  • Experience supporting major infrastructure or power projects.
