We are passionate about people making their own decisions about where and when they work. Our hybrid model of minimum two days a week of in office moments supports flexibility tailored to individual and team needs, empowering people to achieve their career and personal goals.
Our Why?
Humanforce’s vision is to make work easier and life better for frontline and flexible workforces.
Humanforce provides the market-leading, all-in-one human capital management (HCM) suite for frontline and flexible workforces, without compromise. Our employee-centered, intelligent, and compliant HCM suite is highly integrated and composable, consisting of Workforce Management (WFM), HR, Talent, Payroll, and Wellbeing.
Humanforce has grown rapidly through four strategic acquisitions, bringing together world-class products and teams. With this growth, we’re strengthening our engineering leadership by investing in domain-specific expertise.
We’re excited to introduce three specialised Head of Engineering roles, each dedicated to a core product domain. This structure enables deep technical leadership, champions modernisation, and drives innovation, while empowering teams to deliver exceptional outcomes at scale.
For Workforce Management, this means leading one of our most critical parts of our product, owning the evolution of our scalable, cloud-native architectures, and ensuring we continue to deliver world-class solutions trusted by thousands of organisations worldwide.
Who you are
You are a proven engineering leader who thrives on driving large-scale modernisation, whilst remaining close to engineering execution. You’ll lead engineering across our Workforce Management (WFM) product suite, spearheading our evolution into scalable, cloud-native architectures.
Reporting to the Chief Product and Technology Officer, you’ll work closely with cross-functional squads and the Platform team. You’ll set the architectural vision, embed modern engineering practices, technically uplift our engineering talent, and guide squads to deliver high-quality, sustainable solutions, while fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and technical excellence.
What you will do
- Own architectural direction to ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability of the WFM platform.
- Promote modern engineering practices that support quality, consistency, and sustainable delivery.
- Lead the continued evolution to cloud-native architecture.
- Enable effective execution across squads with a focus on measurable outcomes.
- Proactively remove blockers and resolve cross-functional friction.
- Lead and mentor engineering managers and engineers, setting high technical standards.
- Govern, demonstrate and verify quality engineering outputs
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Platform, and CX to align priorities and manage trade-offs.
- Ensure customer issues and performance concerns are addressed proactively and systematically.
- Deliver roadmap items through hands-on technical leadership and architectural vision.
We believe AI will play an increasingly central role across our product domains, and we’re seeking engineering leaders who share that vision. In this role, you will be expected to be AI-curious and to incorporate intelligent tools to accelerate and improve development, whether for prototyping, automating routine tasks, analysing data, or enhancing decision-making. You will help shape our AI adoption strategy, defining best practices, ensuring ethical and secure usage, and fostering AI literacy across your team. We’ll provide support, tooling, and space to experiment so that using AI becomes a competitive advantage, not a risk.
What you’ll need
- Deep hands-on expertise in .NET, C#, Node.js, TypeScript, Angular, and React.
- Fluency in modern system design patterns (microservices, event-driven, domain-driven design, APIs).
- Proven experience modernising platforms into microservices (experience with AWS or another major cloud platform).
- Practical experience designing migration strategies that minimise risk and downtime in mission-critical SaaS environments.
- Track record of shipping complex, high-impact software using CI/CD practices.
- Strong leadership presence with experience building, mentoring, and retaining high-performing engineering teams.
- Skilled at unblocking teams, resolving cross-functional friction, and course-correcting delivery.
- Ability to translate business goals into technical strategy and communicate across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Understanding of how AI can be applied in workforce optimisation, forecasting, and scheduling to improve efficiency and customer outcomes.
Some ‘nice to haves’
- Familiarity with observability tooling (logging, tracing, metrics).
- Experience leading high-pressure situations such as outages or performance degradations.
- Advocacy for test automation, secure-by-design, and sustainable delivery practices.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and staying current with emerging technologies.
- Experience integrating AI-driven decision-making or predictive models into SaaS platforms.
