The role

We’re looking for a Special Counsel to join our rapidly growing New Energy team.

We’re a diverse group, and are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, hard-working and fun. 

Working with New Energy Lead Matt Baumgurtel, this broad, forwarding-thinking practice will give you exposure to project development, construction, financing, investment, joint ventures, and M&A transactions. Specialising in the energy lifecycle, Matt acts for investors, developers, and builders of solar, thermal, wind, hydrogen, electricity transmission, waste to energy and energy storage projects in Australia and the APAC region.

We are looking for someone: 

  • with strong Projects & Infrastructure experience, specialising in Energy & Resources (ideal but not essential), gained either inhouse or with a reputable firm
  • with a genuine passion for the New Energy sector
  • that is keen to be involved with the firm’s business development activities
  • wanting a fantastic team culture
  • with an entrepreneurial and innovative mind-set

Hamilton Locke is an exciting, rapidly growing corporate law firm with a strong and rapidly growing client base. Our New Energy practice has a broad spectrum of clients, with a particular focus on renewable energy, energy storage, and hydrogen projects and investments. Working with some of the leading clients in the region, you will have the opportunity to lead complex, innovative, and market-first New Energy projects across Australia and the APAC region.
