About Kinyara Health Group

Kinyara Health is a business with a unique mission to keep personal, local care alive for ageing Australians and people living with disability, to find their forever home care in one of our remarkable community brands, based in NSW, Victoria and South Australia. In the face of industry reform, we’ve doubled down on this commitment, and as a result, we’ve grown at pace into the hearts and homes of more Australians than ever before.

Our growing private equity-backed group has a unique service model to set us up for success – where community-founded businesses of up to 45 years have legacies honoured through strong local service, enabled by shared services and a technology forward approach that never compromises client experience and community connection.

Through significant growth and reform transition we remain deeply anchored to our community mission, quality standards and culture that invites high performers driven to make an impact.

The Opportunity

As our General Manager of Risk and Quality, you will operate as a strategic partner bringing a risk-embracing, quality-led mindset. At Kinyara, risk and quality extend beyond compliance, serving as enablers of innovation, growth and confident decision making. This is a forward looking role focused on ensuring we stay ahead of emerging risks through strong capability building, intentional culture development and effective risk and quality systems.

You’ll join an ELT that deeply believes leaders are not just drivers of performance but creators of culture and where deep honesty, openness and self-reflection are part of our leadership DNA – and the true drivers of our success. You’ll be asked to cultivate your self-awareness and connect with your own deeper reasons for leadership, to keep your ‘why’ in focus every day so you can support your team’s performance, learning agility and joy at work.

Our expansive approach to leadership gives you a rare opportunity to join a team that sets a high bar and goes beyond performance metrics to reach for true growth horizons for our people and organisation.

The General Manager - Risk and Quality will:

  • Co-design and embed an enterprise risk framework, ensuring quality and safety risks are integrated into strategic and operational decision-making
  • Provide clear, forward-looking insights to the Board and Executive on emerging risks, control effectiveness and priority areas for oversight
  • Embed quality and safety into organisational strategy, including service design, workforce models and growth initiatives
  • Build organisational capability by empowering teams, setting clear standards and continuously lifting the benchmark of “what great looks like”
  • Oversee governance of incidents, complaints and near misses to enable effective escalation, learning and systemic improvement
  • Lead assurance, audit and accreditation programs, fostering an “always audit-ready” culture aligned to key risks and obligations
  • Support growth through M&A by assessing quality and risk maturity and defining post-acquisition uplift and integration plans

About You

You bring:

  • Extensive senior quality, clinical governance and risk leadership experience within community care, aged care, disability or health service environments of significant scale and complexity
  • Proven track record in quality, safety and risk stewardship, including accreditation, regulatory compliance, incident management, continuous improvement and enterprise assurance
  • Demonstrated enterprise level leadership experience partnering with Executive Leadership Teams and Boards to provide clear, insight driven advice on quality, safety and service delivery risk
  • Proven experience in coaching and guiding high-performing teams, creating a culture that motivates and inspires individuals to develop their capabilities and perform at their best
  • Experience embedding enterprise risk management frameworks, with accountability for identifying, assessing and mitigating care quality, safeguarding, workforce and service delivery risks
  • Demonstrated success in building organisational capability, including empowering operational leaders and frontline teams to own quality outcomes within clear governance and risk guardrails
  • Recognised tertiary clinical qualification (e.g. Nursing, Allied Health, Medicine or equivalent) with relevant professional registration
