About Us

Kinyara Health is a business with a unique mission: to keep personal, local care alive for ageing Australians and people living with disability - helping individuals find their forever home care within one of our remarkable, community‑founded brands across New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.

In the face of significant industry reform, we’ve doubled down on this commitment. As a result, Kinyara has grown at pace - expanding into the hearts and homes of more Australians, while staying true to the local care that defines us.

Our growing group operates through a distinctive service model, where long‑established community businesses (some with legacies of up to 45 years) have their histories and connections honoured. These local teams are supported by shared services and a technology‑forward approach that strengthens consistency and sustainability - without ever compromising client experience or community connection.

Through growth and transition, we remain deeply anchored to our purpose, quality standards and culture - creating an environment that attracts thoughtful, capable people who are motivated to do meaningful work and make a genuine impact.

About The Role

We’re looking for a capable and grounded Senior People & Culture Advisor to step into a trusted, high-impact advisory role within a growing, values‑led organisation.

This is a hands-on senior advisory role where you’ll partner closely with operational leaders, providing clear, practical guidance on performance, conduct and day-to-day people challenges. You’ll take ownership of matters through to resolution, supporting leaders to make sound decisions while ensuring outcomes are fair, consistent and compliant.

This role offers a strong opportunity to uplift leadership capability, building leaders’ confidence and skills to manage their teams effectively over time. You’ll also maintain a broader view of what’s happening across the organisation - identifying patterns, highlighting risks early, and contributing to ongoing improvements in how people practices are applied, with a focus on creating clarity, consistency and a more effective experience for both leaders and employees.

This role will suit someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment, can navigate complexity with sound judgement, and brings a balanced approach to people, risk and outcomes.

This role is based in Balaclava and involves travel to our other Victorian sites in Carrum Downs and Tullamarine. There is a component of interstate travel to NSW and SA.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a trusted advisor to leaders, providing timely, pragmatic guidance across performance, conduct, engagement and compliance matters
  • Managing employee relations matters end‑to‑end, including investigations, grievances and disciplinary processes, ensuring fair, consistent and compliant outcomes
  • Coaching and supporting leaders to build confidence and capability in managing their teams effectively
  • Supporting workforce engagement and experience, using insights (e.g. engagement data) to guide practical improvements
  • Contributing to the consistency and quality of people practices across the organisation
  • Preparing and managing employment documentation, ensuring accuracy, compliance and strong record-keeping
  • Supporting workplace safety, injury management and return‑to‑work processes with a balanced, practical approach
  • Identifying emerging workforce trends, risks and themes, and working proactively to address them
  • Contributing to continuous improvement across people processes, systems and ways of working
  • Managing your workload with autonomy and accountability, while collaborating effectively across the People & Culture team

About You

You’re an experienced Senior HR or People & Culture Advisor who brings a calm, thoughtful approach and is comfortable operating as a trusted advisor, not just a transactional support function.

You combine strong technical knowledge with sound judgement and people instinct - able to navigate nuance and balance care, fairness and risk without losing momentum or credibility.

Our ideal candidate will also have:

  • Proven experience managing employee relations matters end‑to‑end
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, awards and compliance requirements
  • Confidence coaching and influencing leaders at different levels
  • Professional maturity and discretion, with the ability to navigate sensitive situations
  • A pragmatic, organised approach with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Comfort working in ambiguity and making sound decisions with imperfect information
  • Strong relationship-building skills across diverse teams and locations
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on improving both experience and outcomes
  • High attention to detail, without losing sight of the bigger picture

Exposure to operational, mobile or geographically dispersed workforces, as well as growth or transformation environments, will be highly regarded.

Other role requirements:

  • Australian working rights.
  • Driver licence
  • Background check: NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)

About The Good Stuff

  • Flexible, hybrid working arrangements that recognise different lifestyles and responsibilities.
  • The opportunity to partner closely with operational leaders across multiple states and have genuine ownership of people matters end‑to‑end
  • Meaningful exposure to the evolving home care sector, where your work has a direct impact on people’s lives and communities.
  • A growing organisation that has scaled significantly over recent years, offering real exposure to change, complexity and evolving ways of working.
  • The opportunity to shape and improve people practices, frameworks and systems - not just maintain what already exists
  • A role where your judgement and advice are valued, with direct access to senior leaders and visibility across the business
  • Meaningful work in the home care sector, where the quality of leadership and people practices has a direct impact on employees, clients and communities
  • A supportive, grounded team environment that values sound judgement, thoughtful decision‑making and continuous learning

About The Process

Our process includes an initial phone screen, interviews with People & Culture and key stakeholders, and a psychometric assessment to support the process.

We aim to keep things transparent and well-paced, with clear communication throughout.

Apply now and join us on the journey to shaping the future of Australian home care.
