The Role

As the Cloud Engineer you will be a motivated professional responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure across multiple platforms. You will collaboratively with software engineering teams to provide technical guidance and support for cloud-based application deployments and you will play a crucial role in optimizing our cloud infrastructure while supporting our development teams in delivering exceptional solutions. 

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Management:

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and Cloudflare platforms
  • Optimize cloud resources for performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability
  • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates
  • Monitor and maintain system reliability, availability, and performance

Developer Support:

  • Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to understand their infrastructure needs
  • Provide technical guidance and support for cloud-based application deployments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues affecting development workflows
  • Create and maintain documentation for cloud services and deployment processes

Security & Compliance:

  • Implement security best practices across all cloud environments
  • Manage access controls, networking, and data protection measures
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies
  • Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability management

Automation & Optimization:

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment
  • Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency
  • Implement monitoring and alerting solutions for proactive issue detection
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to existing infrastructure 

Your Experience

To be successful in this role you will have completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or hold Cloud certifications. You will have Cloud Platform experience and Cloudflare expertise. You will be proficient in infrastructure as code tools and have a strong understanding of networking concepts, security principles and cloud architecture.

Whilst technical proficiency is important to the role, you will also have the attitude, soft skills and capability to engage with a broad range of business and technology stakeholders. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will possess a high level of energy, self-motivation, autonomy, initiative, and attention to detail to be successful in meeting the business demands at G’day Group. Your naturally upbeat and open style will fit our cultural values. You will have a highly organised mindset with the ability to assess the urgency of work allocated to you by various stakeholders.
