Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a driven individual with a passion for the food service industry. One of our clients wants to add a strong Environmental Health & Safety Manager to their team. Responsibilities include:

1) Be responsible for all safety functions and initiatives for the company's manufacturing plant through positive influence

2) Provide strategic direction on planning, development, administration and management of organizational safety policies, programs, systems, and training

3) Assess, evaluate quantify and prioritize safety risks for the company and develop action plans for ensuring all significant risks are controlled and managed

4) Guide operations and Safety Team to implement an overall strategy for continuous improvement of all safety initiatives

5) Analyze and recommend corrective action for all safety-related incidents

6) Reinforce safety culture throughout the company

7) Ensure employee training on applicable safety standards and conduct safety inspections at all facilities

8) Comply with the company’s policies and procedures

9) Perform other duties as assigned

Critical Requirements

1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the food service industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in environmental, health and safety management
