Job Description
Our client, a leading produce company, is currently seeking an accomplished Food Safety and Quality Assistant Manager to join the team. Here is an overview of the role:
1) Ensure effective implementation of all pre-requisite programs, such as product identification, traceability and recalls
2) Follow up with implemented programs, such as GMPs, HACCP, and good hygiene practices to ensure compliance by all employees and other personnel in the manufacturing facility
3) Ensure facility compliance with FDA, USDA and SQF regulations and requirements
4) Supervise and direct quality assurance technicians/auditors who are responsible for enforcing good manufacturing practices and other quality and safety-related policies to meet product quality standards
5) Review production batch records and other manufacturing-related documents to verify compliance and record-keeping for all mandated manufacturing processes, quality checks, testing, sampling, and sanitation activities
6) Assist in investigating and correcting quality-related issues through collaboration with other departments
7) Assist in the implementation of policies, operating procedures, quality systems and programs that ensure proper testing, evaluation, inspection, and technical support in order to meet product quality standards
8) Participate in all regulatory, third party and customer audits and inspections, and corrective action response
9) Perform other duties as directed by Quality Assurance Director
Critical Requirements
1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field
2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)
3) Recent experience in the produce industry is strongly preferred
4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in quality management

Compensation and Other Details
Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
