Job Description

Our client, a leading baked goods company, is currently seeking an accomplished Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor to join the team. Here is an overview of the role:

1) Ensure that all OSHA and company’s EHS managers’ required safety policies, procedures and guidelines are met

2) Provide all PPE required across the various tasks being performed by mechanics

3) Verify the efficiency of each machine through the review of Production and Maintenance Daily Shift Reports

4) Identify problem areas and take appropriate actions to resolve downtime issues while putting additional safeguards in place to prevent recurrence of downtime through an effective PM program

5) Complete maintenance jobs in priority order of food safety, employee safety and equipment reliability using the highest standards of efficiency

6) Ensure prompt repairs by responding to emergency breakdowns with a sense of urgency

7) Ensure that the Department remains on budget through effective tracking of spending each week, month and YTD

8) Maintain and uphold the quality standards of the organization through superior repairs versus temporary fixes using appropriate materials for the task at hand

9) Keep a record of all maintenance, parts and service costs associated with repairs of each key piece of equipment

10) Review the weekly maintenance schedule with subordinates

11) Review the performance of each mechanic with the individual, developing a performance improvement plan regularly, as necessary

12) Interact with all other departments to ensure the proper functioning of all equipment in the facility

13) Develop and implement both an emergency and ongoing work order system for repairs

14) Develop and execute training plan for maintenance workers

15) Promote communication as well as good relations between the Production and the Maintenance departments

16) Ensure the housekeeping, productivity and quality of work standards are maintained, most especially within the Mechanical Maintenance Department

Critical Requirements

1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the baked goods industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in maintenance supervision
