Job Description

Our client, a leading dairy products company, is currently seeking an ambitious Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager to help lead their team. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated candidate with a go-getter attitude and a drive to succeed. Responsibilities include:

1) Establish quality and food safety goals and controls, which are consistent with company's objectives

2) Keep all documentation up-to-date with regulations and to pass all SQF, FDA, USDA and customer’s audits

3) Act as a HACCP Manager, audit and develop all sanitation standard operating procedures and HACCP records and provide timely feedback to the Management

4) Oversee microbial program compliance for the facility

5) Be responsible for complete timely training of all plant employees and track competency

6) Ensure that all product specifications and standards set forth by R&D and Quality Assurance teams are followed and that any deviations from set specifications are corrected and reported appropriately

7) Act as a Safety Coordinator

8) Maintain a safe work environment by implementing safety policy and procedures and enforce OSHA and company's safety rules

9) Participate and lead quality meetings and discussions, with an emphasis on results, solutions, continuous improvement and forward progress

10) Troubleshoot problem-causing delays where a high level of technical expertise and capability are required

11) Forecast manpower, equipment and supplies needed to effectively meet departmental objectives

12) Inform the Plant Manager about potential problems and obstacles that could negatively affect product quality, production efficiency and cost

13) Prepare and run an SQF audit and other company's audits

14) Maintain confidentiality of information and documents, such as product specifications, financial documents, marketing forecasts, customer information and vendor information

15) Make recommendations with regards to the training of subordinates and employee team members.

16) Work closely with managers and supervisors to maximize product quality and reliability and to minimize cost

Critical Requirements

1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the dairy products industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in food safety and quality assurance management
