About Us

Discovery Parks is part of Australia’s largest regional accommodation group, the G’day Group, with 280+ properties across Australia under two brands; Discovery Holiday Parks and Top Parks. Born and headquartered in SA, we’re one the largest tourism companies in the nation and have an ambitious growth strategy.

In addition to operating parks, we have the G’day Rewards program; a community of like-minded travellers with access to exclusive deals and benefits.

We’re a multi-dimensional business. Our owned and licensed properties span an award-winning glamping resort on Rottnest Island (WA), to some of the best family holiday parks in the country and workforce properties servicing the oil and mining sector.

At a time when much of Australia’s tourism industry has suffered the double impact of bushfires and COVID-19, our company is fortunate to be experiencing revenue and network growth.

We’re a company built on passionate and adaptable people that enjoy working within a high-performance team to help our customers “discover what matters”.

The Role

The Marketing Manager will work with stakeholders to drive demand and meet the strategic, tactical and financial outcomes of the business. At its core, your aim will be to ensure our guests choose Discovery as their preferred accommodation provider and to encourage their network to choose Discovery. Repeat visitation is essential to the success of our business.

We have a clear strategy to ensure that the business utilises “best-in-class” tools to ensure that we can deliver outcomes that support the business goal of “Happy People”.

The responsibilities of the role will include:

-         Lead Brand and Marketing Strategy for Discovery, ensuring appropriate investment balance and resource allocation between long term brand building initiatives and shorter-term revenue driving initiatives

-         Develop a multichannel national annual marketing calendar focused on optimising revenue

-         Work with the Local Area Marketers and Operations Team to develop localised park plans addressing parks needs aligned with the National Calendar

-         Leverage and champion membership of the G’day Parks network and G’day Rewards loyalty programme

-         Onboard new parks/product additions to the Discovery portfolio: ensuring strong brand and format integration and develop marketing plans to accelerate growth

-         Manage the Marketing Budget to deliver strong ROI

-         Work closely with external and internal media and creative agencies/teams to develop impactful consumer focused campaigns

Your Experience

Your relevant industry experience combined with Tertiary qualifications and continuous personal improvement are essential. You are a natural leader with strong financial, creative, and analytical capabilities.

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced strategic operator, have high commercial skills and respond quickly to market opportunity as it presents. You will rely on your analytical strengths and commercial acumen and continuously leverage traditional brand and strategic experience. Key behaviors needed to succeed include listening, pragmatism, drive, flexibility and maturity.

The creation of process efficiencies to ensure best practice and a determination to question the status-quo will ensure your success. You will be invested in the strengths of your team and ensure their full potential is realised.

You will possess a high level of energy, self-motivation, autonomy, initiative and attention to detail to be successful in meeting the business demands at Discovery Parks. Your naturally upbeat and open style will fit our cultural values. You will have a highly organised mindset with the ability to assess the urgency of work allocated to you by various stakeholders.

Discovery is a dynamic company with an energetic ‘market disrupter’ reputation. If you are passionate, adventurous, and ready to hit the ground running, we want to hear from you.
