About the role
The Associate HR Business Partner will have responsibility for delivering HR-related activities and support to designated client groups. The role works closely with business leaders and the broader People Advisory Services teams to understand the goals and drivers of the business and deliver relevant HR programs and solutions.
We are currently seeking an experienced Associate HR Business Partner to join a team of highly motivated and supportive HR practitioners. Our collaborative culture ensures a sense of belonging while thriving in an environment where achievements are celebrated and innovative thinking is encouraged.
Key Accountibilities
- Draw on specialist knowledge of HR principles and support the program by providing sound advice, being a confidential source of support and by challenging current thinking.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders (both within PAS and across the business) and become a trusted advisor in relation to all HR-related activities and issues.
- Develop an excellent understanding and appreciation of the designated client group’s needs and the organisational context and goals.
- Work with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Provide guidance to the HR Advisor to coordinate the implementation and maintenance of Cenitex policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with relevant legislation, VPS Enterprise Agreement, VPS common policies and contemporary HR management practices.
- Work collaboratively with the designated client group identifying opportunities for adding value to build capability, ensuring best practice people management and working with other members of the PAS team, implementing effective solutions to address issues or enhance performance.
- Contribute to the implementation of organisational change initiatives, implementing communications and change plans and conducting consultation with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by reviewing and innovatively improving processes and procedures across PAS.
- Provide support on industrial related people management matters to ensure compliance to key processes and identify situations which require higher level IR/ER expertise to manage risk.
- Lead the effective implementation of a variety of small to medium HR projects.
- Complete ad hoc reports and documentation as required.
This is a full time, 12-month fixed term, hybrid, CBD based, VPS 5.1 role, with a base salary range of $113,022 - $124,884 (plus 12% super).
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in generalist HR delivery and/or a range of HR specialities such as employment relations, recruitment, workforce planning, change management, health and well-being.
- Experience working within the Victoria Public Sector is advantageous and very desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to develop relationships, understand stakeholder issues and provide tactical consultancy, coaching and advice to staff.
- Excellent skills in using leadership and expertise to effectively address stakeholder issues, influencing others to identify opportunities and broker long-lasting solutions.
- Proven ability to address complex issues confidently with stakeholders, using influence and expert analysis to highlight and address issues and create shared solutions which advance the stakeholders business consistent with organisational priorities and an assessment of risk.
- A track record in managing the development and implementation of stakeholder initiatives, creating lasting relationships with stakeholder groups, and partners to broker shared solutions in new areas.
