Falls Creek Cross Country Centre - Windy Corner, is a premises leased by YMCA from the Falls Creek Resort Management Board. YMCA adopted the shelter lease at the beginning of the 2006 snow season and has operated the business successfully ever since.
The business includes a heated day shelter for private skiers, boarders and others visiting the winter alpine environment.
About the role:
The Falls Creek Cross Country Manager is responsible for delivering quality outdoor experiences, safe shelter and commercial food experiences from the site as per the Alpine Resorts Victoria Agreement and in advancement of the Sports and Recreation Victoria multi-year contract with Y Victoria.
The purpose of the role is to ensure safe, fun and accessible winter outdoor experiences can be enjoyed by the public and both independent and education department schools. The focus will remain on taboggan hire, XC ski and snow shoe hire and lessons. Key Outcomes include:
- Recruiting, selecting, on boarding, training and management of up to 20 staff for winter operations including efficient and effective rostering to deliver high quality customer experiences.
- Equipment management, servicing, hire and depreciation including ski hire and gear, snow shoes, taboggans.
- Retail management of equipment, inventory and stocktake
- Booking management for instruction, tours and experiences for 1 to sometimes more than 100 people.
- Food safety, dietary and café management including working with the Howmans Gap Catering Coordinator to ensure stock management, audit and food safe reporting.
- Retail and supplier management
- Safe site management ensuring the health and safety of clients, the public and workers, incident management and reporting.
- Provide program reporting that supports the delivery of Sports and Recreation Victoria camping contract.
This is a casual role paying $38.71 plus super.
About You
You will be a recognised people leader with demonstrated experience in; retail and hospitality for the ski industry. In addition, you will have the ability to lead and motivate a dynamic team. Passionate about the winter/snow environment is an essential requirement.
Qualifications:
- Australian Drivers Licence
- Do Food Safely – training provided
- Fire Warden – training provided
- Level 2 First Aid Qualification
Desirable Qualifications
- Medium Ridgid Licence
- Wilderness First Aid
- Outdoor Recreation/Education Qualification
- Food Safety Supervisor
