In this Category Manager role - you’ll own the end-to-end category strategy, shaping ranges that delight customers, drive profitability and strengthen our market leadership across stores and online.

What you’ll be doing

As Category Manager, you’ll take full commercial ownership of your categories, translating customer insight and market opportunity into compelling, profitable ranges.

  • Category Strategy & Growth - Own and deliver the annual category strategy, using data-led insights and bottom-up planning to drive profitable growth.
  • Range & Assortment Leadership - Lead end-to-end range management, delivering competitive, customer-led assortments through disciplined range reviews and lifecycle management.
  • Financial Performance - Drive sales, margin and GP outcomes by owning category financial plans and actively managing pricing, promotions, costs, rebates, clearance and product flow in partnership with Planning teams.
  • Trade Partner & Stakeholder Management - Build and leverage strong relationships with trade partners and internal stakeholders, leading commercial negotiations and influencing at all levels to deliver shared business outcomes.
  • Compliance, Quality & Sustainability - Ensure product compliance, quality and safety standards are met while progressing sustainability outcomes through responsible sourcing, packaging and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Team Leadership - Lead, coach and develop Assistant Category Managers, setting clear priorities, lifting capability and supporting talent development across the Merchandising function.

What we’re looking for

You’re a commercially sharp Category Manager, Buyer or Merchant who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and enjoys owning outcomes end to end.

You’ll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience managing retail categories or buying/merchandising portfolios
  • Strong financial acumen with proven gross profit and sales management
  • Experience negotiating with trade partners, ideally including international sourcing
  • Confidence influencing a wide range of stakeholders through data, storytelling and clear recommendations
  • Experience delivering range reviews and full-year business plans
