About the role
As the Assistant Store Manager, you’ll be the Store Manager’s right hand in one of the most fast‑paced, high‑fulfilment BDF stores in the region. You’ll help lead the team, with a focus on driving daily back of house operations, setting the tone for a strong safety culture built on consistency, accountability and teamwork. With a big fishing and tackle offering, passionate customers and a fast‑moving Click & Collect hub, you’ll make sure the store runs smoothly while supporting the team to deliver safe, efficient and memorable customer experiences. To thrive here you should ideally bring:
- Strong communication skills — you can engage, influence and motivate teams in a fast‑paced environment
- Proven leadership experience from retail, hospitality or any fast paced high volume industry
- A commitment to building a best‑in‑class safety culture, where consistency, accountability and doing things the right way every time is non‑negotiable
- Confidence managing the pace and complexity of a high‑volume store — the turnover and online demand speak for themselves
- Solid understanding of stock control routines, replenishment processes and how to maintain safe, efficient back‑of‑house operations
- The ability to drive a positive team culture, support capability development, and lead by example
- A customer‑first mindset — whether it’s helping someone choose their first fishing rod or keeping Click & Collect humming smoothly
