Student Placement Officer
The Australian Trade Training College is a not-for-profit Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivering a variety of courses across multiple industries. Due to recent growth, we are seeking a Student Placement Officer to join our team.
Work experience provides students with a valuable and rewarding insight into their future career path. Through building strong relationships with employers and schools, you will create opportunities for students to transfer their classroom experience into the workforce.
Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Secure work placement opportunities for students, especially in our priority industry sectors of electrical, construction, engineering and automotive
- Maintain accurate records of student placements, including contact details, placement schedules and feedback from employers
- Coordinate with Heads of Department, employers, schools and students to ensure all placements are scheduled and completed
- Complete placement agreements, orientations and all other relevant documentation
- Respond promptly to inquiries from students, employers, schools and internal staff regarding placement related matters
- Build, maintain and enhance relationships with employers and community groups to secure student placements and provide support and guidance to all stakeholders
- Act as primary contact for placements, coordinating student support and evaluation
- Promote apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities for students

- Great written and verbal communication skills with an ability to build relationships and positively influence and negotiate
- Ability to engage, inspire and support students throughout their learning
- Excellent time management and organisation skills
- Competent in MS Office and use of databases or portals
- RTO experience and knowledge of VET in School programs, along with apprenticeships and traineeships would be highly advantageous
- Self-motivated and able to work both autonomously and part of a team
