People Partner / HR Manager

Drive Performance. Lead with Authority. Deliver Outcomes.

At Aruma, we don’t just talk about impact — we deliver it.

As one of Australia’s leading disability support providers, our focus is clear: build capable leaders, high-performing teams, and a workplace where accountability and strong people practices drive results.

We’re looking for an experienced People Partner / HR Manager who brings both commercial acumen and deep IR/ER expertise — someone confident navigating complexity, influencing senior stakeholders, and making sound, timely decisions.

Permanent Full-Time | Remote / Work From Anywhere | NSW, ACT, QLD or VIC

We strongly encourage applications from people with disability, people with lived experience of disability (including caring roles), and people from diverse cultural and community backgrounds. Lived experience is leadership strength at Aruma.

About the Role

This is a senior partnering role with real scope and influence.

You’ll act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, lead a team of People Advisors, and take ownership of complex people matters across your portfolio. Your focus will be on lifting leadership capability, strengthening performance, and ensuring disciplined, compliant people management practices.

This role suits someone who is decisive, solutions-focused, and comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-accountability environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders to drive performance, accountability, and workforce outcomes
  • Lead and develop a team of People Advisors, ensuring high-quality, consistent HR delivery
  • Provide expert IR/ER advice, managing complex and sensitive matters with confidence
  • Guide leaders through performance management, investigations, restructures, and change
  • Ensure compliance with industrial instruments, legislation, and organisational policy
  • Use data and insights to identify risk, improve practices, and inform decision-making
  • Contribute to the execution of Aruma’s People Plan with a focus on measurable outcomes

About You

You are a credible and commercially-minded HR leader who brings structure, clarity, and confidence to your work.

You’re known for your ability to cut through ambiguity, manage risk, and deliver practical outcomes — particularly in complex IR/ER environments.

You will bring:

  • 7+ years’ experience in generalist HR, including senior partnering roles
  • Strong, hands-on experience managing IR/ER matters end-to-end
  • Proven capability in performance management, investigations, and case management
  • Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation and industrial frameworks
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and challenging constructively where needed
  • Experience leading teams and driving accountability and quality outcomes

Why Aruma?

  • Join a large, purpose-driven organisation with real operational complexity
  • Be part of a high-impact People Team focused on delivery, not theory
  • Flexible, hybrid working arrangements
  • Salary packaging and professional development opportunities
  • A values-led organisation that backs bold, accountable decision-making

Our Commitment

At Aruma, we’re committed to building a workforce that reflects the community we serve. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are focused on creating an inclusive, high-performing workplace.

Ready to Make an Impact?

If you’re ready to own outcomes, lead with confidence, and apply your IR/ER expertise where it matters, we’d like to hear from you.
