Principal / Lead Consultant – Intelligent Data

Who are you and what you’ll do
As a Principal / Lead Consultant within our Intelligent Data Practice at Arinco you’ll play a key role in the design and delivery of end-to-end Azure data solutions. You’ll lead customer engagements across data platform build, migration and modernisation, and bring particular depth in helping customers establish and mature their data governance capabilities using Microsoft Purview. You’ll actively use AI and agentic tooling to accelerate delivery and improve customer outcomes, and contribute to our internal engineering culture through your involvement in developing new offerings, IP and knowledge sharing.
Our ideal person will have
• Experience leading high-level customer engagements in data platform design, delivery and advisory
• Pre-sales exposure with the ability to support local Account Executives in scoping and shaping data engagements
• Strong proficiency in designing and delivering data platforms using Microsoft Fabric or Azure Databricks, with hands-on experience in data ingestion, transformation and analytics pipelines. Including fluency in Python for building and maintaining scalable and reusable ETL/ELT processes
• Proven experience in data engineering best practices, including performance optimisation, cost management and robust security across Azure data services
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Purview for Data Governance, including Data Map configuration, metadata scanning, classification, data quality and Unified Catalog curation. This includes establishing or improveing data governance capabilities, including governance operating models, data ownership, stewardship and policy frameworks
• Demonstrable use of AI and agentic tooling to enhance project delivery and customer outcomes, such as agentic spec-driven development, AI-assisted code generation or AI-augmented analysis workflows
In addition, the following is highly desirable
• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview Data Estate Insights, sensitivity labelling and integration with Microsoft 365 compliance capabilities
• Exposure to regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to Australian industries (e.g. CPS 234, APRA, Privacy Act)
As a customer-led business you will also need to be present on customer site when required.
