ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Pricing Leader to join Ampcontrol. This role can be based out of North Sydney or Tomago.

This is a pivotal, enterprise‑wide role responsible for transforming how Ampcontrol prices its Engineer‑to‑Order (ETO) projects, products and services. You will lead the shift from traditional cost‑plus pricing to a more strategic, market‑ and value‑based pricing approach, embedding pricing as a core commercial capability across the organisation.

Partnering closely with Sales, Engineering, Finance and Operations, you will provide strategic pricing leadership, support complex bids and tenders, improve margin performance, and strengthen Ampcontrol’s competitiveness as we continue to grow organically and through M&A.

If you are passionate about value creation, commercial discipline and driving meaningful change in complex environments, we’d love to hear from you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the transformation from cost‑plus to market‑ and value‑based pricing across ETO projects, products and services.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies, frameworks and governance that improve margin performance and commercial discipline.
  • Provide strategic pricing leadership and commercial support for complex bids, tenders and high‑value opportunities.
  • Design scalable pricing models for ETO, standard, configurable and services offerings, incorporating risk and value insights.
  • Analyse customer, market and competitor pricing trends to inform go‑to‑market and deal decisions.
  • Build pricing capability across the business by coaching, enabling and partnering with Sales, Engineering, Finance and Operations.

ABOUT YOU

Education & Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business, Commerce or a related discipline.

Technical Skills

  • Proven pricing leadership experience in industrial, engineering, manufacturing or project‑based environments.
  • Strong experience in ETO or complex project pricing.
  • Demonstrated capability in developing services pricing models.
  • Advanced financial and commercial modelling skills, including margin, risk and scenario analysis.
  • Experience supporting bids, tenders and commercial negotiations.
  • Ability to design and implement pricing governance frameworks, tools and processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate insights into practical, commercial decisions.

Experience & Attributes

  • Proven success transitioning organisations from cost‑plus to market or value‑based pricing.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder influencing skills at a senior leadership level.
  • Ability to lead change and embed new ways of working in complex, evolving organisations.
  • Commercially minded, outcome‑driven and confident operating in ambiguous environments.
  • Collaborative, proactive and highly credible with cross‑functional teams.
