About the Department:

Caulfield Pain Management and Research Centre (CPMRC) is an outpatient multidisciplinary chronic pain programme in Bayside Health. The Centre assists patients reduce the impact of persistent pain by optimising pain treatments, improving physical and psychological functioning and promoting self-management. We are staffed with a variety of medical specialists and allied health staff and offer individual and group-based treatments. CPMRC are accredited by The Faculty of Pain Medicine of ANZCA for training, in collaboration with Alfred Acute Pain Services. 

About the Role:

We are seeking a Locum Specialist in Pain Medicine to work 5 hours per week in an outpatient setting, assessing patients and collaborating with the team to plan treatments.  This position is available from 12 August 2026 to 7 March 2027, covering leave. 

Qualifications and Experience:

• Appointees must be legally qualified medical practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without conditions, undertakings or reprimands that could impact on their clinical practice.
• Fellowship of the FPMANZCA. Fellowship of AFRM applicants would be considered.
• Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Pain Medicine in a multidisciplinary team.
• Meets Alfred Care Group requirements for credentialing and scope of practice for Pain Medicine.
• Experience in teaching and an involvement in research are desirable.
