  • Full-time (1EFT / 80 hours) to June 2027

About us

headspace offers a ‘one stop shop’ for young people aged 12 -25 and their families who may be experiencing mental health challenges. Providing an opportunity for young people to receive help early and promote a 'no wrong door' approach to supporting young people and their families through the provision of GPs, counsellors, Alcohol & other Drug workers and Vocational and Educational support.

Alfred Care Group is the lead agency for this program and offers the opportunity to work in a growing dynamic healthcare environment. 

What you’ll be doing

The Access Clinician will work as a member of the hSyndal Access team to perform a variety of tasks including Access, offering session by session appointments and providing ongoing therapeutic support to young people. 

The position requires experience in the diagnosis and provision of assessment and intervention with young people, including experience of trauma, educational / vocational and social needs, alcohol and other drug issues. 

The successful applicant will participate in & is responsible for establishing links with other services working with young people to establish partnerships that support young people who are struggling with mental health.

About you

  • Approved tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline and eligibility for membership with the appropriate professional body:

          - Occupational Therapy Board of Australia via AHPRA to practice with the National Board.

          - eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

  • Demonstrated competence in the provision of a full range of mental health services including individual, family and group, treatments for adolescents and young adults presenting with a range of behavioural, emotional, social or developmental issues, including alcohol and other drug issues
  • Extensive skill and experience in engagement and assessment of adolescents and young people and their families including capacity to provide flexible outreach
  • Appropriate work visa
  • Current Victorian Driver's License
  • Current Working with Children Check and be willing to undergo a Background Check
