The Department

Alfred Care Group’s Dietetics and Nutrition Department provides an integrated nutrition and dietetic service at The Alfred, Sandringham and Caulfield Hospitals. The joint Nutrition Department is comprised of approximately 48 EFT and 70 staff members. It is organised into 8 clinical streams and provides a 7-day service. Using evidence-based, patient-centred care it provides clinical expertise to Alfred Care Group’s patients during their healthcare journey, including the prevention and treatment of malnutrition and the optimisation of nutritional wellbeing and recovery through tailored, specialised nutrition therapy.

The Role

Alfred Care Group’s Dietetic and Nutrition Department is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Grade 1 Dietitian to join their busy clinical department. The Grade 1 Dietitian will be part of a team providing a full range of clinical nutrition services across The Alfred, Caulfield and Sandringham Hospitals campuses (clinical workload allocation will include rotations to all Alfred Health sites). The Grade 1 will work closely with Senior Dietitians to promote and develop nutrition services through teamwork, collaboration, innovation and communication.

Skills & Experience Required

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Skills in the assessment and nutritional management of patients, encompassing provision of enteral and oral nutrition support
  • Excellent communication skills, proficiency in nutrition education and basic computer skills
  • Eligibility for membership of Dietitians Australia and the APD credentialing program
  • Will graduate by 29th June 2026 or have graduated within the last 12months.
