Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education. On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

Alfred Mental & Addiction Health is responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.

The newly integrated Adult and Older Adult Service combines AMAH Adult Community Mental Health and Caulfield Aged and Liaison Psychiatry Services to provide comprehensive, person-centred support for adults and older adults. We offer a wide range of therapeutic, addiction, trauma-informed, and family violence services.
In line with the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health recommendations and the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, we are expanding our services to provide specialized expertise and broad-spectrum care, including pathways for substance use, rehabilitation, recovery, and trauma-focused care.

About the role
The PARC program is staffed clinically by the PARC Senior Clinician full-time Monday to Friday, support from medical staffing, and psychology. The PARC clinician will increase the clinical capacity of the program across a 7-day roster and extended evening cover. The incumbent will be required to work predominantly evening shifts 13.30pm – 22.00pm including weekends with rotation to Alma Road Community Care as required.
ERMHA 365 staff provide the non-clinical support service at PARC which includes 24-hour cover comprising am and pm shifts and a night-time sleep over. Staff provide clients a range of individual and group psychosocial and support services.
Under the guidance of the medical team and PARC Senior Clinician, and in conjunction with ERMHA 365, staff the PARC clinician will provide consistently high standards of clinical treatment and recovery to clients who access the PARC program. The PARC clinician will be required to complete assessments with ERMHA 365 staff to assess suitability of clients for the PARC program and will provide clinical service provision and support. The successful applicant will undertake specialist clinical assessment, formulation of treatment plans, medication supervision and provide clinical support to consumers of the service, on a day-to-day basis. This position will liaise with service providers within AMAH and externally. The incumbent will provide clinical support and guidance to ERMHA 365 staff by participating in education and provision of in-services. The PARC clinician will also be required to collect and record program data and contribute to the development of policy and procedures.
All clients entering the PARC program will be supported by community teams from AMAH who will maintain contact during the PARC stay and will provide follow up and treatment after the client exits.
About you
Essential
- A current Registration with the relevant registering body (Nursing & Midwifery Board / Occupational Therapy Board via AHPRA preferably with Psychiatric endorsements or equivalent
- RPN - Postgraduate qualifications in psychiatric nursing
- Experience in a range of psychiatric interventions indicating an ability to perform community-based psychiatric assessment including that of risk assessment
- A current driver’s licence is required to undertake this role
