On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

ADULT COMMUNITY PSYCHIATRIST - FIXED TERM 12 MONTHS (February 26 commencement)
The Adult and Older Adult Service is a directorate of Alfred Mental and Addiction Health (AMAH). We are seeking a Psychiatrist to work within our Adult Community Teams based at St Kilda Road Clinic (SKRC) on a full time, fixed term basis (from February 2026 until February 2027 with the possibility of extension). In 2026 the Adult Community Service will embark on a period of growth as we establish a Mental Health and Wellbeing Local in partnership with Wellways, explore new models of care for community clients and strengthen our discipline and clinical leadership. This position will be based within the Navigations stream and will provide clinical leadership to one of our continuing care teams in addition to working flexibly across programs such as our intake and access service and brief intervention team. Whilst we are seeking someone with full time availability, consideration will be given to applicants who can work a minimum of 24 hours per week.

Applicants must be legally qualified practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, a Fellow of the relevant college. Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Psychiatry is required as well as meeting Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Psychiatry.
