The Department

Hospital in the Home (HITH) provides acute care to patients in the community as substitution for the inpatient setting. Alfred Health HITH cares for a diverse cohort of acute patients, within metropolitan Melbourne and across the state. Many of Alfred Health’s state service patients are cared for within the HITH service, providing a supported and skilled progression of care pathway for patients to continue their acute care needs in their home setting. The HITH service operates across all Alfred Health sites, providing a seven day a week service.

The Role

The Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) position is an exceptional leadership opportunity within Alfred Health. The successful candidate will be provided with support and exposure to career development within a key acute service within Alfred Health, supported by an experienced team.

The CNM is a is a member of the HITH leadership team who supports the Nurse Manager (NM) in operationalising the core values of Nursing at Alfred Health by ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff. They will play a pivotal role in meeting broader organisational imperatives as well as supporting future development of the HITH service.

The CNM will support the NM to manage clinical risk, implement systems and processes to improve patient outcomes and develop staff to deliver excellence in clinical practice. The CNM will support effective patient access to HITH whilst ensuring responsible financial and human resource management.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Registered as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA.
  • Degree in healthcare / business management or working towards same.
  • Recent extensive clinical nursing experience in acute health service.
