On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

The Department

Respiratory Medicine has a unique and comprehensive spectrum of expertise in Australia across clinical and basic allergy and advanced adult lung diseases, including severe asthma, emphysema, interstitial lung diseases, sleep apnoea, cystic fibrosis (CF; State Centre of Excellence) and lung transplantation.

It comprises of four Clinical Services, supported by the Bronchoscopy Service and the Physiology Service (including the Lung Function Laboratory). The clinical operational structure comprises of:

  • Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology Service
  • Cystic Fibrosis Service
  • General Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Service
  • Lung Transplantation Service 

The Role

The primary purpose of this position is to support the dataset development and collection for the Australian and New Zealand Respiratory Audit Program (ANZRAP). This research program is led by investigators based at Alfred Health and Monash University. The administrative worker will assist in collecting and entering data from electronic medical records of eligible patients at Alfred Health. The administrative worker will receive training to support high quality data collection and entry. You will:

  • Help develop the ANZRAP training manual for people collecting data at sites participating in ANZRAP
  • Support the ANZRAP clinical audits, including input of data and responding to quality control queries
  • Undertake other administrative tasks required for the ANZRAP audit as required by the research team

Qualifications and Experience required

  • Excellent Administrative skills including intermediate / advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite and REDCap
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and self-direction
  • Experience with database maintenance and generating database queries
