Department

The Medical Oncology Unit provides co-ordinated multidisciplinary management for adult patients with malignancies. An important component of this care is the Clinical Trial/Research activities we participate in, which enable us to offer forthcoming investigational treatments to our patients. The Unit conducts phase I, II and III trials, and is a participating member of both National and International Clinical Trials Groups, incorporating both pharmaceutical industry, sponsored and investigator driven studies across a wide range of tumour types.

Position Summary

In your role as a Level 3 Research Nurse you will work on a range of research projects within the Medical Oncology Research department. You will work along-side a group of experienced Medical Oncology researchers who share knowledge and assist each other in their project recruitment and management. The type of projects will relate to the overseeing and facilitating of the introduction of new processes and procedures associated with new therapy types – different logistics with new drugs, impact on other departments, complicated patient schedules, new laboratory processes, new equipment, microdosing logistics, teletrials, etc.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Recent Clinical trial research nurse experience
  • Five years of Oncology and/or Haematology nursing experience or equivalent
  • Current and satisfactory Police Check
  • Current and satisfactory Working With Children Check
  • Certificate of Good Clinical Practice
