The Department
The Digital Health Division is responsible for enabling clinical staff to deliver timely, quality care to our patients and carers through innovative use of information technologies, and through strategic management of information and data across the organisation.
The Digital Health division encompasses all aspects of:
- Information technology procurement, delivery, security and support.
- Electronic Medical Record and a suite of Clinical Applications, Technologies and Products
- Digital Technology
- Data Governance and research
- Cybersecurity

The Role
This role sits within the newly established Projects Directorate and reports to the Director of Digital Health Projects. The Clinical Information Systems (CIS) Project Team Lead is responsible for the leadership, coordination, and successful delivery of clinical information system projects across Alfred Health. Working closely with clinical leaders (including the CXIOs), technical teams, and external partners, the CIS Project Team Lead manages a team of project managers and analysts to deliver complex, multi-disciplinary digital health initiatives. This position plays a pivotal role in Alfred Care Group’s digital transformation, ensuring CIS projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of quality and safety, in line with the organisation’s commitment to integrated, agile, and patient centred care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the CIS project team, ensuring effective allocation of resources and professional development.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of CIS projects, ensuring alignment with Alfred Care Group’s strategic objectives and digital health roadmap.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between clinical, technical, and vendor teams to ensure project requirements are met.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers for all CIS projects.
- Ensure robust project governance, reporting, and documentation in line with Alfred Care Group’s project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile).
- Manage stakeholder engagement, including regular communication with executive sponsors, clinical leaders, and end users.
- Support change management and training activities to ensure successful adoption of new systems and processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, privacy, and quality standards.
Skills:
- Tertiary qualification in Health, ICT, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in project management within a healthcare or digital health environment.
- Experience managing teams and delivering projects with significant clinical and technical components.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR), clinical information systems, and relevant standards.
- Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile) highly desirable.
