We have an exciting opportunity for a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist to join our Stroke & Neurotrauma team at The Alfred, one of Victoria's leading trauma hospitals and a major tertiary neuroscience service.

Working within our multidisciplinary team, you'll support patients recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal and complex neurological conditions, helping them maximise independence, participation, and quality of life during critical stages of recovery.

About the Role

As a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist, you will:

• Deliver high-quality occupational therapy assessment and intervention for an acute stroke and neurotrauma caseload
• Support patients to maximise functional independence, safety and participation
• Lead complex discharge planning and collaborate closely with patients, families and the interdisciplinary team
• Apply evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches
• Provide supervision, mentoring and teaching for Grade 1 staff, Allied Health Assistants and students
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement and research initiatives
• Play an active role in promoting excellence within the Occupational Therapy service

This position operates within a 7-day stroke service model of care and includes:

• 0.8 EFT weekday and 0.2 EFT weekend roster
• Preferred Tuesday to Saturday roster
• Part time applicants will be considered

About You

You are a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist who enjoys working in a fast-paced clinical environment and values teamwork, learning and professional growth.

You will bring:

• Occupational Therapy qualification recognised in Australia
• Current AHPRA registration
• Minimum three years' clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist
• Experience within acute hospital settings
• Strong clinical reasoning and patient-centred practice skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Experience in supervision, teaching or mentoring
• Commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based practice

Clinical experience in stroke and neurotrauma is highly desirable.
