About our team
The Multidisciplinary Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre (MAPrc) is part of Alfred Brain within the Alfred Care Group of Bayside Health and the Monash University Department of Psychiatry.
MAPrc is one of Australia's leading psychiatric research centres, conducting industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials and translational research focused on improving treatments for people living with serious mental illness. 
MAPrc is led by Professor Jayashri Kulkarni and has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality psychiatric clinical trials that translate research findings into improved patient care.

About the role
The Research Nurse is responsible for coordinating psychiatric clinical trials conducted at MAPrc. Working closely with investigators, sponsors, Contract Research Organisations (CROs) and multidisciplinary research teams, you will ensure studies are conducted in accordance with study protocols, Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) and regulatory requirements.
You will play a key role throughout the lifecycle of clinical trials, including participant recruitment, informed consent, clinical assessments, study coordination, data collection, participant retention and trial close-out activities.
The role reports to the Research Manager and works collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, research coordinators and other clinical staff.

Key responsibilities
•    Coordinate allocated psychiatric clinical trials from start-up through to completion.
•    Support Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) submissions, governance applications and study activation.
•    Recruit, screen, consent and assess participants according to study protocols.
•    Conduct participant visits, clinical assessments and ongoing safety monitoring.
•    Collect clinical data, biological samples and study-specific outcome measures.
•    Maintain accurate source documentation and electronic case report forms (eCRFs).
•    Resolve data queries and ensure high-quality study documentation.
•    Liaise with investigators, sponsors, CROs and study monitors.
•    Assist with participant recruitment strategies and community engagement.
•    Provide education and information regarding clinical trials to participants and stakeholders.
•    Ensure compliance with ICH-GCP, study protocols, Bayside Health policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
•    Contribute to quality improvement and research activities within MAPrc.

About you
You will be an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse with a passion for psychiatric research and improving outcomes for people living with mental illness.

You will have:
•    Current registration as a Registered Nurse
•    Experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing.
•    Experience coordinating or conducting clinical trials, preferably within mental health.
•    Demonstrated knowledge of ICH Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP).
•    Experience recruiting, consenting and retaining research participants.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with people living with serious mental illness.
•    Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
•    Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
•    Excellent problem-solving skills together with resilience and sound clinical judgement.
•    A commitment to ethical research practice, patient-centred care and continuous improvement.
