Applications are invited for a Locum Specialist in Dental Services (Fractional) to provide parental leave backfill, working 1.75 hours per week from May 2026 for 12 months.
The incumbent may be required to assist in the development, implementation and audit of agreed management protocols and models of care consistent with international best practice standards across all areas within the Services, Department and with other related disciplines in the context of current professional knowledge and available resources. The supervision of Hospital Medical Officers (HMOs), Registrars, Fellows, Locums and trainees in conjunction with the Clinical Service Head and Director may also be required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Appointees must be legally qualified practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without conditions, undertakings or reprimands that could impact on their clinical practice.
- Meets Alfred Care Group requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Dental Services. This includes evidence of completion of advanced training in one or more of the clinical areas outlined above and may include a Master of Dental Surgery/Science, Doctor of Clinical Dentistry, and/or relevant Fellowship. The details of these qualifications are outlined in Alfred Care Group’s Standard for Credentialing and Scope of Practice for Dental Surgery and are considered essential for core scope for practice as a specialist in Dental Services.
- Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Dental Services.
- Experience in teaching and an involvement in research are desirable.
