New Graduate Social Worker - Allied Health Entry Level Program

  • Full-time with flexible monthly ADO commencing July 2026 to June 2028

The Department

Alfred Mental & Addiction Health (AMAH) is responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a mental illness residing in the Inner Southeastern area of Melbourne.

The Adult In-Patient team is comprised of dedicated and compassionate nursing, allied health, lived experience and medical staff. We celebrate diversity within our workforce with a genuine interest in each other’s wellbeing. Our team is committed to delivering a timely and effective range of treatments and interventions for the treatment of acute, severe mental health issues. We aim for treatment and intervention to be personal, safe, connected and effective. Our treating team will work together to provide the best practice treatment for mental and physical health, to assist recovery.  We value higher learning and support our team with frequent professional development opportunities and regular professional supervision.

The Role

We have a position available for a Social Worker graduate, interested in pursuing a fulfilling career in public mental health, to join our team at The Alfred’s Adult Inpatient Psychiatric Unit. As an entry level Social Worker, you will have the opportunity to enhance people’s quality of life by enabling them to live a meaningful life through targeted assessment and intervention across a number of reputable clinical service areas. 

Flexibility to work a 7 day rotating roster if/when necessary.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor and/or Masters of Social Work or equivalent
